Hatipathar Falls draws its name from the two words that are Hathi, which means an elephant and Pathar, meaning a boulder. This waterfall is a part of Nagavali River and flows through a deep cut valley.
The State Highway 10 connects this sightseeing spot with the Rourkela town.
 Hatipathar Falls get its name from two words one being Hathi which means elephant and the other is pathar which means rocks.
The tourist spot is located 3 KMs from the Rayagada, close to the river Nagavali.
An ideal picnic spot known for its eye-catching beauty, the place gets its name from the huge elephant shaped boulders that are spread near the falls.Hatipathar waterfall Keonjhar is located just 3 kms away from Rayagada and is a part of the Nagavali River. The Hatipathar falls get its name from the huge elephant shape boulder present here. The river flows through a deep cut valley, thus creating two extraordinarily beautiful cascades. This is one of the best natural places which are surrounded with top tourist attractions like Devgiri hill, Paikapada, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Minajhola etc.  Best time to visit the place is in between the months of May- August.
